Requirements
- Preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes using various cooking methods, ingredients, and flavor combinations.
- Accommodating customers with food allergies or intolerances by modifying dishes and ensuring food safety and hygiene.
- Planning menus, determining portion sizes, estimating food requirements and costs, and monitoring and ordering supplies to manage food costs effectively.
- Inspecting kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness, proper sanitation, and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Training staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling techniques to ensure quality and consistency.
- Ordering supplies and equipment and ensuring they are properly maintained and stored.
- Supervising kitchen staff and helpers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to monitor usage and identify needs.
- Cleaning the kitchen and work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
